This spring, a select group of students will work directly with Michael in a 6-week introductory Modern Greek course.
The Spring Beginners cohort will be capped at 5 students, and is designed for serious students who are looking to begin their Greek learning with a solid and systematic foundation.

How to read Greek, with a special focus on pronunciation and prosody
Core grammatical structures of Modern Greek
Communication-oriented vocabulary and beginning language production
Attention to detail and “hot” corrections to establish proper pronunciation and language use from the beginning
Extensive exposure to authentic Modern Greek, curated and reinforced to create language memory
Explicit grammatical instruction, alongside the cultivation of language intuition through constant interaction with and through the language
Communication-based acquisition of vocabulary and grammatical structures

I’m Michael, and I was in your shoes. I’m passionate about teaching people Greek because I know it’s possible to start from nothing and reach a state of real fluency.
Given my journey from absolute beginner to professor, translator, and fluent speaker, I focus on helping serious students by combining academic rigor with a guided, practical approach.

If you have some background, but think you should get back to the basics, you are also welcome to apply.

Each session will be recorded and the recordings will be available to students of the cohort. Additionally, you can always check in with Michael to make sure you don’t fall behind, and the out-of-class assignments and projects will give you opportunity to keep your learning on track.
